AUSTRALIA DAY

Australia Day was celebrated on January 24 in Val de la Atalaya school. Only year 5 and 6 are studying Australia in the proyect “English around us”.

We are going to tell you what we did on Australia Day.
First of all, we made different groups represented with typical Australian animals. Then, we made 3 different activites: 1)cricket, 2)Waltzing Matilda and 3)flag craft.
1) we played cricket. Cricket is a team sport . You need a ball, a bat and 3 sticks .
2) Waltzing Matilda is the false anthemn of Australia . We sang this  song.
3) We made a craft about the flag of Australia .
After the break  we made the Sídney Opera House with paper plates.
